Annual Dinner and Awards NightMembers of the Shoalhaven Photographic Club and their guests enjoyed a delightful evening on Friday, 26th October. The reason for the gathering was the celebration of the club's successful year of activity. A delicious meal was enjoyed and awards made to recognise the achievements of members throughout the year.
Point score winners for the year, were as follows:-
Monochrome Prints - 3rd place to Laurence Ryan, 2nd place shared by Chris King and Gavin Martin-Rentz and 1st place to Leander Wiseman.
Colour Prints - 3rd place to Eve Hall, 2nd place to Terri Ford and Di Coghlan, and 1st place was won by Leander Wiseman.
The Overall Point Score winner was Leander Wiseman who commented on how her involvement in monthly club competitions has made her broaden her approach to photography
and try things she would not have otherwise done. The award to the most successful winners of Photo of the Month competitions was shared by Leander Wiseman and Eve Hall.
The President's Award was made by Chris King to Di Coghlan for her outstanding contribution to the club especially in sharing her expertise in our Workshop Nights.
Barbara Smith won the award for Best New Member, Pat Welch was recognised for his Creative and Imaginative Photography, and Laurence Ryan was awarded the trophy for Most Improved.
Our special guest for the evening was Richard Morecroft who shared some very interesting insights into his approach to photography.
This was illustrated with many of Richard's outstanding landscapes in portrait format in which he produces remarkable sharpness right through the picture from foreground to background.
His "eye for a picture" was very evident in the photographs shown.Richard then gave very useful comments on the photographs which were displayed for the Photo of the Year competition.
These photographs on display had won Merit and Credit Awards in the monthly competitions through the year.
